Judith Allen-Efstathiou is and international visual artist who comes from a family of five generations of Maine female artists. After studying sculpture and printmaking at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Tufts University. Judith was awarded a one-year traveling fellowship by the Museum of Fine Arts Boston that led to a 3 decades stay in Athens, Greece. She returned to the US in 2000 and began living six months a year in Portland, Maine. and six months in Athens Greece. Her artwork is informed by her negotiations between these two cultures with interests in both historic preservation and environmental issues that reflect loss in the natural world caused by human activities. She has an active exhibition practice in Europe and the United States.
