Outside In
Maine State House Copper Reuse Commission

"Outside In" is a copper relief sculpture consisting of four three vertical 49” x 15 panels of vintage copper from the Maine State House Dome removed in reroofing. A filigree-like image of pine trees is cut through the copper with acid, with the patina of the 200-year old copper carefully preserved. The sculpture brings the outside in both literally and figuratively. Firstly, by the reuse of the copper from the dome of the State House; and secondly, by depicting pine trees from the Maine woods. The work is permanently installed above the Law and Legislature Library near the rotunda, below the dome of the State House.
